The visualization of 3D models of the patient's body emerges as a priority in surgery both in pre-operative planning and during surgical procedures.
The aim of this research activity is the development of new interaction modalities based on the use of an optical tracking system or a multitouch table, which interpret
the user's gestures in real-time for the navigation and manipulation of 3D models of the human body.
The tracked movements of the finger provide a more natural and less-restrictive way of manipulating 3D models created using patient's medical
images.
